You may have noticed that this post was not done by kevo’. Well, that is because he decided to make some changes on his precious blog. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Aeroblip (you can call me “Aero” for short), and I will be a contributing writer on Desu ex Machina. This may be shocking news to some of you, so I’m assuming you have some questions. Well, consider this post a preemptive strike.

Q: Can you tell us about yourself?
I am actually relatively new to the anime community. For the longest time, my exposure to anime was limited to whatever aired on Adult Swim. However, I stopped watching anime because I wanted to focus more on my studies (but mostly because I didn’t have a television). This hiatus lasted for over three years. It wasn’t until the Winter 2011 season that I learned about weekly-aired shows translated by fansubbers. It took another viewing season for me to learn about the anime blogging community. Even so, I didn’t make my presence known until Summer 2011.

Q: So basically, you have no writing experience?

Yes and no. I have chatted with many bloggers on forums, and I occasionally worked as a contributor for another blogging website. However, this will be the first time I be producing editorials of these lengths. I have written technical papers in my academic career, so it shouldn’t be that difficult to adapt to more “creative styles” of writing. Hopefully, my posts will still be good enough to keep you readers entertained. I have no problem taking constructive criticism, so please give me your best shots.

Q: What exactly is your job?

I am kevo’s new partner-in-crime when it comes to anime blogging. As such, I will periodically be writing editorials, which will range from reviews, impressions, and general thoughts about anime. I will also work as kevo’s assistant such maintaining the site, dealing with Anime Power Rankings, and getting him coffee. In addition, we are currently working together on some secret projects.

Q: Can you give us a hint on those secret projects?

No, but you can expect something magical really soon.

Q: What else do you do besides watching anime?

I am currently an engineering student in college, so I do the college student things: studying, going to lab, fratting, etc. I’m majoring in aerospace engineering (hence the name), so I do spend a lot of time with airplanes. I am also a huge sports fan, and I love watching and playing football and basketball. And just like everyone else, I spend a lot of time playing video games.

Q: What do you rank as the best shows of 2011?

  1. Madoka Magica
  2. Steins;Gate
  3. Mawaru Penguindrum
  4. The Idolm@ster
  5. Level E

Q: Will we expect more Idolm@ster posts?
Meh.

Q: Any way we can contact you?
If you wish, you can follow me on Twitter and track me on MyAnimeList. If chatting is more your style, you can also find me on Skype (just ask me).

If you have any other questions about me, feel free to post them in the comments section. In fact, I would encourage you to do so. I look forward to working with kevo’ and to entertaining you all.
