I don’t usually listen to anime podcasts, but the first thing that came to my mind when listening to yours was how different English people pronounce the Japanese titles. It just sounds… weird hah.
About Mouretsu Pirates, I reckon the reason why so many people don’t like it’s pacing is because of one thing. The bloody name of the series. The words Bodacious, Space and Pirates all have very strong connotations attached to them, and as such, people automatically expect what would you expect. Grand space battles, piracy, gunfights and mindless action.
I’ve also read somewhere that the director said that this is a series about the growing-up of Marika, so I would interpret that as the series is about Marika BECOMING a space pirate, not BEING a space pirate… for now at least.
And the way you go on about Aquarion, it has obviously done it’s job in sucking you in. The cheesiness is the point of the series and the orgasm gattais is it’s unique selling point.

I feel a bit mean for saying this, but a random piece of advice for Kevo: Your verbal tic of going mm-hmmm after anything Aeroblip says is really grating.

I feel the same way. I was toying with some way of editing it out. Next time I’ll just shut up rofl.

Is there anything for me to improve on? I’m perfectly fine with constructive feedback.
