Anime Power Rankings Demographics (Summer 2012)

Hello everyone! There are no Anime Power Rankings this week to allow shows time to air and fansubs time to get distributed. Though I’ve had a “tradition” of taking a one week break between seasons in the past, it will probably be on a case-by-case basis in the future. What I do have for you, however, are this season’s Anime Power Rankings demographics survey. Since the last time the APR voting roster was revealed, we’ve grown by almost 20 participants. 64 different anime blogs are represented this season, up from 50 last time. So put on some goggles, because you’re about to get lots of stats blasted in your face.
Indicates primary affiliation. Some voters may participate in multiple blogs and websites. List does not include invitations sent for this season but not confirmed.
These 73 people are polled every weekend for their favorite anime that week, and I collect the results into a big spreadsheet and post them every Sunday. Of these 73, 65 responded to the demographic survey.
While anime blogging remains the biggest sausagefest out there, there was a 2% increase in female bloggers compared to the April survey. Canada has the most female anibloggers, even outnumbering their male counterparts 5-4. Survey respondents hail from fifteen different countries, with France and Poland gaining representation since last season. Ironically (but not surprisingly) Japan has no representation.
As the new season begins this week, I want to reiterate that the main goal of APR is to capture a representative opinion of English-speaking anime bloggers. Expanding the geographic scope of the participants is a secondary (but still important) goal. Do you own or regularly write for an anime blog? Do you know someone who does? Send them my way! Interested individuals should contact animepowerrankings at gmail dot com.

Forever alone Swede here ;-;
It would be fun if you sometime seperated the APR by America, Europe, Asia. See if there is any difference. (or maybe just America vs the World, as most bloggers are from America)

Kind of sad that males still outnumber females in this demographics… That means 0.25 girl per boy.
Oh well, reverse harems will work anytime at this rate. :p
