This week, we are joined by Mister Flawfinder (Standing on My Neck) and Usny (Desu ex Machina)
We kick off this year with the beginning of the Winter 2013 season. We give our first impressions of the new show like Maoyuu Maou Yuusha, Kotoura-san, and Sasami-san@Ganbaranai. We also discuss Nekomonogatari: Kuro of yesteryear and give predictions of the later seasons. Like usual, we talk about whatever crosses our minds.

A bunch of grown up men hating on a high-schooler (Tsubasa), is ok I don’t like her either.
Those who’ve seen the whole Chihaya loving on Taichi (because he is so dreamy and such a great guy), those who are still watching it hating on him because he was a jerk at the beginning. Kevo will go through the Chihaya roller-coaster and Taichi shall come victorious.
And finally a bunch of the same “grown-up” men discussing the inns and out of the magical girl genre.
My favourite quote: “Vividred Operation is going to be on the top five no BUTTS about it” Courtesy of Usny.

Great podcast as always guys, all of you are a riot! This season has been a little on the meh side but there are the gems as there are in every season!
For me, The Unlimited Hyoubu Kyosuke is vastly underrated through this season kind of flying under the radar. I haven’t seen the original series and I find it cool so far. That and the sequels Tomodachi and Chihayafuru of course

For underrated shows, my favorite would be Mondaiji. However, we most likely won’t talk about it since I’m the only one watching the series.

Excellent episode! my second fav idol is Takane with Iori as my top idol. and i love episode 1 since it gives the setting of the current state of the 765 pro. my least fav episode has got to be hibiki’s. So yeah, as a fellow idolm@ster fag– i mean fan, convince Joe to keep watchin’ then i wanna hear it on his podcast all about his views of it. Before i go, what did you guys think about Puchimas!? I love it! very cute but i feel 2mins is too short. i rather have going for 10minutes instead so you can group panels form the manga together. like Iori’s remote island scenes could’ve be done in 10mins.
laters!

I absolutely love the Puchimas manga, but the anime fails to capture the same charm. The short length hinders the story pacing and the joke timing. If they combined a few chapters into a full 22-minute episodes, the series would be fine.

im still gonna keep watching because Takane is freakin hilarious in the manga. speaking of manga, have you read the other idolm@ster mangas thats already out there? like:
- Colorful Days (stories before the start of Idolm@ster 2)
- Nemuri Hime (featuring Chihaya)
- World is All One (where the Producer-san is actually working for 961)
- Relations (featuring Miki)
- the 876pro solo mangas (follows the stories in Dearly Stars)
- Break! (features Project Fairy under Kuroi as rivals)
- and The Idolm@ster (Mana), manga side stories that goes with the Idolm@ster anime.
I hope i can be a guest in your show just to spend a whole episode geeking out on the Idolm@ster franchise and all the references between the games and the fan following.

I read Break! and Colorful Days. However, those didn’t really interest me as much as Puchimas.
We’ve done a FAPcast solely about Idolm@ster last year, and I personally would have no problem doing another. Maybe not right now but perhaps in the foreseeable future.
Really guys? I know you’re partly joking, but parroting stupid 2ch/4ch sentiments of slut/whore/bitch as the reason for disliking a character? Do you really want to be put on the same level as the people who cancel purchases because a next episode preview in Ano Hana hints that she might have sex, or the people who send pictures of their dicks over twitter to a voice actress for friendzoning someone?

We’re more than just partly joking. It’s because what those people do is so ludicrous that we find it funny and fun to be facetious.

Being ironically sexist means instead you’re on the same level as Big Bang Theory, which I guess is a step up

Except we’re actually funny.

I would also advocate intelligent, thoughtful discussion about characters and topics over random namecalling any day of the week.
But making fun of Hanekawa is really enjoyable.
I watched Paragon Lost. It’s horrible
