Funny how you guys ended up loving Tamako Market a lot more than me when I was the only one who was defending it on the last FAPcast.

Okay, idolm@ster has been mentioned. It’s my turn to step in.
Here are my points why i would love to see more idolm@ster:
- A new season of idolm@ster would be very yesgood. There are alot of missed opportunities of other idol stories from the original games, actually, mostly from The Idolm@ster 2. There are a few good dramas in the canon which can easily spread out for another 26 episodes. But what I personally want is more of the elements from game. In the game, there’s a mandatory goal for the idols have to produce in order to win the coveted Idol Academy Grand Prix Award. This involves getting over 300,000 fans and getting a single in the top 10. If they can translate that into anime form, we could see the idols do various jobs that increase fan count and aboutt he single they have to sell, this gives an opportunity for a new song. Just like in the Shiny Festa episodes, they were performing 4 brand new songs. More songs like MUSIC, i would cry manly manly tears and that is freakin’ great! Also in the game, there is a music chart show called Dotop TV. In there, you get to see the current rankings and how your single fares amongst other muscians and idol groups. This then leads to another point im gonna make…
- Moar Idols! We already know the trio for 876 Pro: Ai Hidaka, Eri Mizutani and the trap of the century, Ryou Akizuki. I’ve read the Dearly Stars manga and I found their back story interesting. Ai’s mother use to be a great idol, Eri is a popular internet idol where she creates her own works, and Ryou gets confessed by every boy. The Dearly Stars storyline in the manga was actually faithful to the DS game and they added more to it. So why not translate this into anime?
Another thing, the Idolm@ster anime was indeed intriguing, realistic and fun to watch. But for me as a avid fan of Morning Musume, the real world is much more competitive and there are a slew of idol groups out there. I didnt feel that at all in The Idolm@ster anime. They had on screen, two idol groups they have to overcome. The three mean bitches from the sports festival and of course, Jupiter. It wouldn’t hurt to see more rivals up to 765 Pro’s level. This where the Cinderella Girls come in. There are like 100+ idols to choose from, which will be so neat for fans of the mobile game. They can be into groups and have all canon idol group names. I’ve read a few official Cinderella Girls manga and found some of them more engaging to experience. Like Riina Tada for example, her dream was to be a rock idol. But when she tried to apply for one, she was instead join into a pop idol group instead. She would come to terms that she may not be a rock idol now, but she can be popular enough to go solo and become one. A-1 Pictures doesnt have to put all of the CGirls in. I’d like to see them interact with the 765 Pro and see how they think about them. Do they admire them? Do they see them as rivals? OR do they even hate them?
I think with a good enough storytelling, a new season of the idolm@ster may or may not be worth the wait, but I think i’d be so glad that they did make it.

in a different topic, i would like to give my shameless plug. You can visit my very very new anime blog called ‘No Pudding, No Life’ as I try to catch up a shitload of anime. I used to casually watch anime since 1999 to 2007. Then from 2008 till early 2012, i was focused on gaming more than being interested on what anime is airing in Japan. But I’ve started to take interest to anime again after seeing Oreimo and The Idolm@ster anime. And it this show, FAPcast, that i’ve realized that i’ve missed tons of good anime. On what i’m doing right now is listening to all of your episodes and pick out the ones that’s gonna be worth watching or the lackluster animes just to see their point of view. I’ve spent last January watching: Chihayafuru S1, Strike Witches S1+2+movie, Yuru Yuri S1, Nichibros, Joshiraku, Hyouka, OniAi, Haganai S1, Bakemonogatari S1 and Girls und Panzer. I have also watched the first two episodes of Tamako Market and all of Vivdred Operation so far. Once i’m done watching older anime, i’ll keep up with you guys and give my thought to the current season’s anime.
Here’s my blog: http://nopuddingnolife.blogspot.com.au/ i’ve only made one review so far about Strike Witches but i’ll try to be more consistent to releasing more posts.
And if you wanna watch some fan made Idolm@ster stuff, check out the youtube channel ‘Hanayoriuta’ in youtube. HanaP is doing a walkthrough of the Idolm@ster 2 while translating and adding his own voice work as Producer. I also provided on some of the voices of directors in the events in the game.
so yeah,
GeN out!

Shaft fans got nothing to complain about when Nisemonogatari volume4 sells 43,000 blurays in it’s first week. They have 9 more books left to adapt Kizumonogatari, Kabukimonogatari, Otorimonogatari, Hanamonogatari, Onimonogatari, Koimonogatari, Tsukimonogatari, Owarimonogatari and Zokuowarimonogatari. Count Madoka in there and Shaft can roll the money train in until they overdose on acid.
