Since kevo was so enthusiastic about blogging about Tamako Market 4, I wasn’t able to give my opinion on the it. My thoughts of Tamako Market 4 were:
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!
Ok, onto episode 5.
The description to Tamako Market before the show started airing at the beginning of the Winter season is exactly what we are seeing blossom here in episode 5. I can’t say I’ve seen many love triangles involving a girl and a guy going after the same girl. Nor have I seen a girl who is as oblivious to the entire ordeal as Tamako is. At the very least Mochizou is attempting to reach out to Tamako, but is failing horribly. I believe his first mistake was taking love advice from a bird who gets side-tracked from his mission of finding a princess for his prince by mochi. Although if I were a talking bird and I landed face first into a market of moe, I’d probably stick around too. Actually now that I think about it, Mochimazzi has a pretty great life. He hangs around a bunch of cute girls all day as they do cute things, he rarely ever flies around anywhere, and finding a princess for his prince really doesn’t seem to be that big of a deal. If it was he would have been out of this show weeks ago. Mochimazzi is living the life.
Oh right, love triangle. As I stated, of the two seeking Tamako’s love and affection, Mochizou is the best candidate to win. Midori is simply playing the friend who wants the love and affection of her friend, but is more in tune with preventing the other party from winning. I think the technical term for that is “cock-block”. That’s what I originally thought was going to happen until she decides to be somewhat supportive for Mochizou towards the end of the episode and tells him to tell her how he feels. I believe this isn’t the last we are going to see of this. Nor do I believe there is any more development to be had with this love triangle. I really hope Kyoto Animation has something up their sleeve to progress the romance in Tamako Market in some interesting way. Because at this point, it’s really not grabbing my attention.
Really the only other thing I wanted to point out in this episode were these school outifits. I’m not even sure how to properly formulate my thoughts on them. They aren’t exactly hideous or anything like that. It’s just….I don’t even know. They just seem very bland and boring. It’s not like I was expecting Kyoto Animation to pull a page out of Vividred Operation‘s book and have them waltz around in short shorts or extremely short skirts. But at least put a little creativity into what their wearing rather than have them wear plain pink dresses.
Oh god, I think Dokidoki Precure has corrupted me into criticizing what girls should wear. Those flashy Precure outifits. Those transformation sequences. ….I need to lie down.

i say their uniform is cute and pure. it doesnt need to pull any inspirations from vividred. And about the love triangle thing, my waifus mentioned in my blog (nopuddingnolife.blogspot.com.au), a more possible romantic fling can happen between Midori and Mochizou instead.
