Usny: I’m really starting to think that Makopi only has one song. She must not have read the list of things you should try not doing, because I’m pretty sure “being like Basshunter” is at the top. Her manager must have realized that singing the same song over and over again is not a great recipe for success, so she arranges for Makopi to appear on Iron Che– I mean at Mana’s house to flex her cooking muscles. It quickly becomes apparent that Makoto’s cuisine is rather unlikely to reign supreme, since she’s never cooked before.

Cue Mana running off without any plan and coincidentally running into Makopi. This triggers a series touching series of scenes where Makoto is taught how to cook by Mana and co, blah blah blah, she just wanted some friends, blah blah blah. Also, cooking preparation is apparently just a rhythm game.

The next day, Makoto’s cooking goes live and the girls are tense as they watch. Ultimately, Makoto succeeds because of the power of friendship and effective teaching techniques. Then Luffy shows up to wreak some havoc by turning the person with the most frivolous selfish desire into a monster. If someone who was mere hungry can almost destroy a restaurant, god help the Precure if the villains ever turn a white collar criminal into a Selfish. Next thing you know, it’ll be some guy wanting to cross the street.

kevo: We see the much-anticipated transformation scene of Cure Sword in this episode. It’s fine, but I expected something more… lavish for our badass Precure. I guess it’s very much a wish in vain — Cure Moonlight’s transformation was underwhelming as well, and it was a wait five times longer.

Now that the four girls are all here so early, I have no idea what they are doing with the pacing. It’s been six episodes, we’ve revealed all the Precure, and it looks like we’re going straight into an important story arc? We would usually be at this point 30 episodes from now. Unless Dokidoki! Precure is actually revealed to be 12 episodes long, I smell shenanigans. Four-Cure show with the cures revealed early, and the crew already being put to the test? We’re in for a ride.
