Last week’s results, about the Anime Power Rankings
This week, Last Exile -Fam, the Silver Wing breaks into the Anime Power Rankings for the first time. It’s good to see some different shows up here at last. This week’s Chihayafuyu was pretty good, so it’s rather surprising that it would drop to 6th, but this season is more competitive than it looks. I picked up Persona 4 the other day and I’m loving it despite having limited experience with the game. It’s definitely a show that deserves to be ranked as well.
I had to rewatch Mawaru Penguindrum this week because I got distracted my first time through. The directing is undoubtedly spot-on; the episode is pretty and the dialogue is very emotional. However, I will still stand by my opinion that that show has lost its charm. The plot is so buried in pomp and decorum that distracts for the central theme of the show. Regardless, I can easily see how this week’s episode would take the top spot by a mile. I think this sums it up perfectly:
I ranked Mawaru Penguindrum first because it starts to unveil and put the pieces on their places. Past episodes seem so random but they fit on the development that’s just happened on this episode.
